The Story
In 1869, in the Red River Settlement, Rosie begins to question the life she has always imagined as tensions rise across her Métis homeland. As the future of the settlement hangs in the balance, Rosie, William, and Agnes find their lives forever intertwined by history, family, and the choices that will echo across generations. The Red River is a coming-of-age musical set during the Red River Resistance, weaving an intimate story of love, identity, family, and belonging into one of the defining moments in Métis history. Set beneath Manitoba’s immense prairie sky, the sultry score explores the enduring ties that bind us to one another, to our history, and to the land we call home.
